Plastics Innovation Award

By request, the deadline for the presentation of the projects is postponed to 24 september 2009.

The Plastics Innovation Award is an award dedicated to Piedmontese SMEs and to young designers. The scope is to launch new and innovative products made of plastic material. The award has the following goals:

• support product and technological innovation
• support the real development of two new products ideas
• spread the innovation culture in our region (Piedmont)
• stimulate, through the creation of best practices, the use of modern engineering and prototyping systems and to share the expertise of the research centers in our territory

Proplast (thanks to regional funds and thanks to some members support) - through this award - wants to push the development of plastic products:

• usefull in different economic sector
• made of thermoplastic materials
• conceived for the business and/or consumer market
• with an innovative character
• that can be sustainable and eco-friendly
• that can be object of a new business

The prize will be 'paid' in the form of services, to help the SME and the designer to complete the feasibility study of their products, from the product engineering to the rapid prototyping and - if possible - through the patenting of the model; LCA and dissemination on the main sector newspapers will be included in the prize.
